Tigers and E-Gals served most girls tennis triumphs

Bethel-Tate and Milford were the county’s .500-plus teams in the final regularly-scheduled games of the varsity girls tennis season. Amelia and Batavia broke even.

Bethel-Tate

The Tigers swept Clermont Northeastern 5-0 in the Southern Buckeye Conference American Division. The Tiger victors were Krista Sloan (first singles) 6-0, 6-3, Cheyenne Davidson (second singles) 6-1, 6-0, Heather Daugherty (third singles) 6-0, 6-0, Deeanna Dameron and Mackenzie Rinehart (first doubles) 6-0, 6-3, and Morgan Adams and Hannah Wallace (second doubles) 6-0, 6-2.

Goshen also went by the wayside 4-1 in the Southern Buckeye American. The Tiger winners were Sloan 6-1, 6-3, Davidson 6-1, 6-0, Daugherty 7-6, 6-3, and Dameron and Rinehart 6-3, 7-6. The Warriors' point was made by the second doubles of Abbi Poff and Ruffner 6-3, 6-4.

The Red and Gray edged Western Brown in another American Division battle. The triumphant Tigers were Sloan 7-6, 2-6, 6-4, Davidson 7-5, 6-3, and Dameron and Rinehart 6-2, 6-3. Deer Park's Wildcats won out 3-2 in non-league action. Davidson 6-4 , 6-3, and Adams and Wallace 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 were the Bethel winners.

Milford

The E-Gals humbled Hamilton's Big Blue 5-0 in a non-league game. The winners for Milford were Lauren Poole (first singles) 6-2, 6-4, Madison Laskarzewski (second singles) 6-3, 6-2, Shannon Glancy (third singles) 6-3, 6-2, Sarah Kruse and Core Petrosky (first doubles) 6-1, 6-2, and Susie Facciolo and Eliza Marchant (second doubles) 6-4, 7-5.

Goshen was also blanked 5-0 in inter-county, non-league play. The E-Gal victors were Poole 6-0, 6-0, Laskarzewski 6-1, 6-2, Glancy 6-1, 6-0, Kruse and Petrosky 6-0, 6-0, and Gabriela Medvedec and Julieah Morehouse 6-1, 6-1.

Amelia was also downed 5-0 in a Fort Ancient Valley Conference non-division clash. The winners in Red and White were Poole 6-2, 7-5, Laskarzewski 6-3, 6-1, Glancy 6-2, 6-2, Kruse and Petrosky 7-6, 7-6, and Medvedec and Morehouse 6-0, 6-1.

Fairfield's Indians were beaten 4-1 in a non-league fray. The E-Gal winners were Poole 6-2, 6-2, Laskarzewski 6-1, 6-3, Glancy 6-1, 7-5, and Kruse and Petrosky 6-4, 6-4.

Anderson's Redskins brought the Eagles back to earth with a 4-1 set back in the Fort Ancient Valley Buckeye Division. Kruse and Petrosky made the point for Milford 6-4, 7-5.

Loveland's Tigers whitewashed the E-Gals 5-0 in the Fort Ancient Valley Buckeye.

Winton Woods slipped by the E-Gals 3-2 in the Buckeye Division. Kruse and Petrosky 6-1, 6-1 and Medvedec and Morehouse 6-4, 6-4 were the winning Clermont countians.

Amelia

The Barons beat Clermont Northeastern 5-0 in a non-league match. The victorious Amelians were Hannah Fulks (first singles) 6-0, 6-2, Ashley West (second singles) 6-4, 4-1 (retired), Ally Chamberlain 6-0, 6-0, Cassie Amato and Nicole Lindsley (first doubles) 6-2, 6-0, and Rachel McClure and Shivangi Patel (second doubles) 6-0, 6-0.

The Blue and White beat Batavia 4-1 in non-league action. The Amelia winners were West 6-1, 6-2, Chamberlain 6-1, 6-4, Amato and Lindsley 5-7, 6-4, 6-0, and Holly Buten and Ashley Houston 6-3, 6-1. The Bulldog winner was Beth Turner (first singles) 6-2, 6-3.

Ross' Rams of the Fort Ancient Valley were Amelia's next victims 3-2. Fulks 6-0, 6-2, West 6-3, 6-3, and Amato and Lindsley 6-3, 6-1 were the winning Clermont countians.

The Barons were beaten by Turpin's Spartans 5-0 and Little Miami's Panthers 5-0 in Fort Ancient Valley Cardinal Division games.

Batavia

The Bulldogs negated New Richmond 5-0 behind the victories of Turner 6-0, 6-0, Katelyn Woodruff 8-6, 3-6, 6-2, Shayna Wallace (third singles) 6-0, 6-2, Meranda Bare and Kelly Simmons (first doubles) 6-1, 6-3, and Nancy Gerrard and Hannah White (second doubles) 5-7, 6-0, 8-6. This was a non-division game of the Southern Buckeye.

Felicity fumbled before the 'Dogs 4-1. The winners in Green and White were Turner 6-0, 6-0, Woodruff 6-2, 1-6, 6-4, Bare and Wallace 6-0, 6-2 and Gerrard and White 6-2, 6-1. The Cardinals' winner was Carter (third singles) 6-1, 6-0. This was a Southern Buckeye American showdown.

Western Brown won out 4-1 in a non-division Southern Buckeye bout. Turner tallied the Batavia point 7-6, 6-0.

Glen Este

The Trojans trumped New Richmond 5-0 in inter-county, non-league play. The triumphant Trojans were Courtney Toler 6-3, 6-1, Rachael Shepler 6-1, 6-1, Sarah Parrish 6-0, 6-0, Keara Mulvaney and Danielle Riggs 6-1, 6-3, and Lauren O'Donnell and Allison O'Moore 6-4, 4-6, 7-5.

The Trojans tied Taylor's Yellow Jackets 2-2 in a Fort Ancient Valley game. The doubles teams of Shepler and Toler 6-0, 6-0 and Mary Baker and O'Moore 6-1, 6-1 scored the GE points. There was no third singles match.

Harrison nipped Glen Este 3-2. Toler 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 and Parrish 6-2, 6-3 were the winning Clermont countians. This was a Fort Ancient Valley duel.

Western Brown won out 4-1. Parrish and Skaesh (first doubles) achieved the GE point 6-2, 6-0.

Winton Woods, in another Fort Ancient Valley fray blanked the Purple and White 5-0.

New Richmond

The Lions slipped past Bethel-Tate 3-2 in the Southern Buckeye Conference American. The winners in Red and Black were Kody Blankenship (third singles) 6-3, 6-0, Miranda Stillwell and Vada Stillwell (first doubles) 6-2, 6-4 and Marissa David and Casey White (second doubles) 6-4, 6-2. The Tigers points were earned Sloan 6-2, 6-2 and Davidson 6-1, 6-2.

Clermont Northeastern was held scoreless 5-0 in the Southern Buckeye American. Winning for NR was Blankenship 6-1, 6-1, White 6-1, 6-1, Megan Tucker 0-6, 6-4, 7-5, the Stillwells 6-0, 6-1, and David and White 6-0, 6-0.

McNicholas' Rockets routed New Richmond 5-0 in non-conference competition.

Western Brown beat New Richmond down 4-1. The Stillwells netted the Lions' point 4-6, 6-2, 7-5.

Felicity

The Cardinals clobbered Clermont Northeastern 4-1 in a non-division game of the Southern Buckeye.

The winners in Red and White were Amanda White (first singles) 7-6, 6-2, Ciera Nickol (second singles) 6-1, 6-0, Carissa Cumby and Heather Tatman (first doubles), and Kristin Sturgis and Mackenzie Turner (second doubles) 6-1, 6-1. The Rockets' winner was third singles Alicia Dennison 6-1, 6-0.

Western Brown whitewashed the Cards 5-0 in a Southern Buckeye non-division tilt.

Goshen

The Warriors won their first game of the season, 4-1, over Clermont Northeastern in the Southern Buckeye American Division. The triumphant in Red and Gray were Alyssa Hulsmeyer (second singles) 6-1, 6-1, Chyna Perkins 6-0, 6-4, Martell and Poff (first doubles) 4-6, 6-2, 6-3, and Kayla Marder and Carlson (second doubles) 4-6, 6-1, 7-5. First singles Suzanne Caldwell won for the Blue and Gold 6-4, 7-6.

Goshen lost to Eastern 4-1 in a non-conference contest. Third singles Perkins scored for the Clermont countians 7-5, 4-6, 10-8.
