Norborne Charles “Knobby” Ward, 80, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 at Hospice of Cincinnati. He was born Dec. 20, 1928 in Shipman, Miss. and moved to Ohio in 1949.
Mr. Ward was a patrolman for the Ohio State Highway Patrol and former police chief in Batavia. He was the owner of W&W Protection Agency.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Ward and one sister, Myrna Hartman.
He is survived by his wife, Doris A. Brown Ward; three sons, Donald Ward, Richard (Kim) Ward and Dan (Lana) Ward; one daughter, Kathy (Steve) Paul; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren and one sister, Joyce Williams.
Funeral services were held Nov. 12 at Maham Funeral Home in Williamsburg.
