Betty E. Newman, 70, of Cherry Grove and Amelia, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009. She was born May 23, 1939, the daughter of Anna Mae and Ray Gray.
She was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her husband, John H. Newman; her mother; children, Tamala Reed and Michael Taylor; one brother, David Gray; one sister, Linda Swope; four grandchildren, Michael Pick, Trina Reed, Jessica Taylor and Chris Taylor; two great grandchildren, Hunter Grothe and Gwynneth Pick; five stepchildren and six step great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Nov. 18 at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in Amelia.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
