A crowd of Clermont County community leaders was on hand at TCS Seven Hills Park in Milford to hear a report to the community on Thursday, Nov. 5. Ohio Governor Ted Strickland was also in attendance at the event hosted by Tata Consultancy Services.

Tata Consultancy Services Seven Hills Park is the location of the TCS North American Training Center. Surya Kant, president of TCS North America, announced that over the last several months the company has added 225 associates from top universities throughout the country. The new associates have recently completed a six-week training program as part of the TCS’ Initial Learning Program.

Training included a mixture of business professionalism, quality and technical courses with a focused rigor on integration into TCS. Many of the newly trained associates are now developing custom IT solutions for the government and healthcare sectors.

"We have implemented the GoIT Student Program," said Kant. "TCS is working with schools, governments, businesses and universities. We host in-school workshops to increase career awareness. Students receive hands-on technical exposure. And we have been working with the schools in the area using the technology for schools to integrate with the local community."

Tata Consultancy Services recently designed the new website for Clermont Northeastern Schools.

"The strong partnerships we continue to have with the greater Cincinnati academic community including the University of Cincinnati and Ohio State University ensure that we will continue to find skilled professionals in this region," said Kant.

TCS is also a supporter of the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, which provides assistance and opportunities to disadvantaged families living in Ohio's southern Appalachian counties.

"TCS is a great company, their standards are second to none," said Strickland. "What you and your company are doing is worthy of recognition. You are located in Ohio and are part of Ohio. It's great to hear about your association with Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati to help youth become more interested in careers in the IT field. You have proven yourselves to be good corporate citizens."

"The United States is by far our largest market and Seven Hills Park plays an integral role in our strategy of putting our customers first," said N. Chandrasekaran, CEO and Marketing Director of TCS. "Seven Hills Park helps TCS deliver on our promise of providing reliable, scalable, cost effective delivery of IT services and solutions. I welcome these new associates into the TCS family and am sure they will help our customers achieve even greater success in the future."

Strickland stressed the importance of companies like TCS creating IT jobs in Ohio.

"Fostering job creation is vital to a strong economic recovery for Ohio," said Strickland. "Companies like TCS are tapping into our highly talented workforce and world class educational institutions to grow their business while providing high skilled jobs for Ohioans. This is the type of investment and long term commitment that will ensure Ohio's place as an economic leader."

Tata Consultancy Services opened in the United States in 1979. The company employs more than 13,000 workers in 26 locations throughout the country. TCS opened its doors in Milford on March 17, 2008 and currently employs more than 300 associates at the Seven Hills Park. As business increases a staff of more than 1,000 workers is planned.
