Golf outing raises $33,000 and hope

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Clermont County recently hosted their twelfth annual golf outing at Coldstream Country Club.

The event netted $33,000 for Club operations. The outing was filled to capacity with 30 foursomes.

Former Detroit Tiger, Jon Warden, emceed the event and Coldstream member Tom Matlock served as auctioneer.

Katie Higgs, a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs for 10 years, and the Club’s 2009 Youth of the Year Runner Up, gave a presentation during dinner.

Katie told her very moving personal story of why the Club is important to her. She concluded her presentation by saying, "The Boys & Girls Club saved my life."

Since 1997, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Clermont County have been providing hope and opportunity for thousands of young people like Katie.

This year, more children than ever before are engaging in the life changing programs of the Club.

Each day since the start of the 2009 -2010 school year, as many as 220 young people ages 6 to 18 attend Clermont County Clubs in New Richmond, Amelia and Felicity.
