The unexpired term for mayor of the Village of Bethel will be filled by James Dick. Two residents were seeking to fill the term, which will expire Dec. 31, 2011. James Dick received 378 votes and Rus Whitley received 224 votes.
Dick has vowed to become a community facilitator in his role as mayor.
“I plan to contact each one of the organizations in town, including the township trustees, board of education, boosters, ministerial association, Lions Club and committees,” said Dick. “I hope to create a community organizing and recreation committee.”
