Rabies shot clinic to be held Oct. 24
The Clermont County General Health District, in partnership with Family Animal Hospital of Batavia, will be holding a low cost rabies vaccination clinic at the Live Oaks Campus from 2 – 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. Call (513) 732-7499.
Tax proposal discussed in New Richmond
A 1 percent earned income tax is being considered by officials in the village of New Richmond. On Sept. 23, the New Richmond Village Council held a special meeting to explain the need for the tax and answer questions from the public about the tax. During the meeting, those in attendance heard some basic information about the village finances.
Neighborhood watch program being planned
A series of events within the Village of Amelia have led to the Recreation Commission’s plans to establish a Neighborhood Watch Program. The commission’s plans for the program were discussed during the council meeting Monday, Sept. 21.
Budget cuts affect GED program
Those needing a “Second Chance” to receive a high school diploma have an advocate at the Clermont County Educational Service Center. But recent budget cuts will be affecting programs that have been offered in the past.
Union Township Fire Department recognized
During the Union Township trustee meeting Tuesday, Sept. 22, officials recognized members of the Union Township Fire Department for their recent accreditation. On Aug. 24 – 29, Fire Chief Stan Deimling and Captain Perry Gerome attended the Commission on Fire Accreditation International hearing in pursuit of reaccreditation. In order for the fire department to achieve this success, the team had to pass 244 performance indicators which included 77 core competencies, said Chief Stan Deimling. The accreditation process included an in-depth process of self-assessment with methods for analyzing community risks, needs and agency performance in service delivery. Members of the accreditation team included Chief Deimling, Assistant Chief Jeff Jackson, Captain Perry Gerome, Lieutenant Vicki Conneighton and firefighter/paramedic Chris Goessl.
