The Middle East Fork Balanced Growth Initiative was discussed during the Williamsburg Council meeting Thursday, Oct. 8.

Becky McClatchey of Clermont Soil and Water Conservation District gave a presentation to council about the application for the Ohio Balanced Growth Initiative and explained the importance of the program.

“There are six projects statewide to be awarded $600,000,” said McClatchey. “We are seeking a recommendation from council to apply for this program. The state will be offering incentives for businesses within the district and there will be priority conservation areas targeted for the program. Those areas will be working together as a group to establish economic competitiveness, ecological health, and quality of life.”
