Milford E-Gals and Glen Este Trojans conclude their respective varsity girls golf campaigns

The girls varsity golf season for Clermont County’s couple of high school teams has come to a conclusion.

Only the Division I Glen Este Trojans and Milford E-Gals took part in the prep wars that took place on the local links.

Division I Sectional Tournament

The Division I Sectional took place at Walden Ponds. A total of one dozen complete five-member teams competed. Mason’s Comets won the tournament with 319 strokes. Milford was sixth by shooting 376 and Glen Este was 12th with 564.

The E-Gals had two team members who qualified to advance to the Division I District Tournament.

Jennifer Trame, a senior, shot an 81 on the par 72 course and Sydney Anderson, a senior, shot an 88.

Fort Ancient Valley Conference Tournament

Milford garnered second place in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference Girls Tennis Tournament

Th E-Gals made a six-person team total of 372 strokes, 21 more than FAVC champion Kings' Knights with its five-player total of 351 shots. Glen Este was 10th among the 10 teams making a total of 500 strokes.

The Red and White and the Purple and White are Clermont County's only varsity girls links teams.

Jen Trame and Sydney Anderson tied for the best scores recorded by Milford in the tourney with an 84. Two E-Gals were tied for third overall. Chelsea Wright of Kings was the medalist with an 82 and Dayna Westrick of Little Miami putted an 83.

Other individual totals tallied by Milford were by Ali Habermehl with a 101, Courtney Tedrick 103, Sarah Strunk 105, and Erin Mack 107.

The best 18-hole score registered by Glen Este belonged to Hannah Macke who was tied for 15th overall with her 99.

Regular season results

Milford defeated Cincinnati Country Day's Indians 177-269 led by Trame's two-over par 40 on the back nine at Carmargo.

Next-door neighbor Loveland also fell before the Red and White 191-199. Trame again earned medalist laurels with her seven-over par 40 on the front nine at the Oasis.

Milford swept a three-way showdown under Loveland's Tigers and Turpin's Spartans with the respective scores of 171-180-239. Trame again paced her teammates with a two-over par 38 at Deer Track in this game among members of the Fort Ancient Valley. Teammate Anderson shot a 40.

Glen Este was undershot by Harrison's Wildcats 209-230 on the front nine at Circling Hills. The Trojans lost to Little Miami's Panthers 197-243 on the back nine at Belwood.

All of the GE contests were against fellow members of the Fort Ancient Valley Conference and the same was for Milford with the exception of the victory under Country Day.
