Bethel-Tate’s Tolin and Batavia’s Brown pace Clermont County in sectional golf tournament

Division I Sectional

This tournament took place at Glenview Golf Course

Moeller’s Crusaders won the 15-team tournament with a total of 297 shots, Milford was sixth with 317, Amelia, 12th, 372, and Glen Este, 15th, 432.

Tyler Wade, Milford junior, was the lone Clermont County qualifier for the district tournament. He shot a 74.

Division II Sectional

This tournament took place at Sharon Woods Golf Course.

Wyoming’s Cowboys had the best team tally among the 16 competing squads. Wyoming made 326 strokes, Bethel-Tate was third with 337, Batavia 10th, 371, New Richmond, 14th, 418, Goshen, 15th, 423, and Clermont Northeastern, 16th, 436.

The Bethel-Tate varsity golf team won the Southern Buckeye Conference American Division five-match golf tournament. Team members are, front row from left, Alex Dice, Jason Adams, Brian Carter, and Dillon Dodson; back row, Zach Stiers, Tommy Galea, Josh Ausman, Travis Tolin, Mike Ziggas, and coach Harold Messer.
Bethel-Tate senior Travis Tolin qualified for the district tournament by earning medalist honors with his six-over par 76. Also advancing to the district tournament was Batavia junior Eric Brown who was fifth overall with his 18-hole round of 79.

Fort Ancient Valley Conference

Milford led the way for Clermont County's squads in the respective Fort Ancient Valley Conference boys golf tournaments.

Buckeye Division

The Eagles were runner-up after Loveland . The Tigers totalled 318 strokes, Milford 334, Anderson 347, Harrison 351, Glen Este 408, and Winton Woods 442.

Milford's Tyler Regueyra earned the co-medalist honors with Loveland's Mitch Louis by shooting a 78 on the Weatherwax Golf Course. Teammates Nick Rugueyra shot an 83, Cody Giles 86, and Tyler Wade 87.

Taylor Ballou recorded the best score for Glen Este.

Cardinal Division

The team totals were Wilmington 319, Kings 345, Turpin 351, Walnut Hills 358, Little Miami 366, and Amelia 414.

Jeremy Marsh turned in the best score for the Barons.

Regular season results

Milford mastered Middletown Fenwick's Falcons 158-167 on the front nine at the Oasis. Nick Regueyra was the medalist with an even par 36 and his brother, Tyler, shot a 37.

The Eagles were upended by Loveland's Tigers 156-161 in a duel of the Buckeye Division duel of the Fort Ancient Valley Conference. Nick Regueyra was a tri-medalist with a two-over par 37 on the front nine at Cedar Trace. Teammate Tyler Wade stroked a 39.

Glen Este won out under Winton Woods' Warriors 176-184. The Trojans' Kyle Douthitt was medalist by shooting a seven-over par 42 on the back nine at The Mill.

Mariemont's Warriors beat GE 170-198 in a non-conference fray that took place on the front nine at White Oak.

Goshen managed to get by Clermont Northeastern 204-209 in a Southern Buckeye Conference clash that took place on the par 36 front nine at Deer Track. The Rockets' Stephen Privett was medalist with his 46.

Amelia lost a Fort Ancient Valley Confernce Cardinal Division encounter to Little Miami's Panthers 177-208 at Weatherwax.

Batavia suffered a defeat at Sharon Woods 176-185 to Roger Bacon's Spartans. The Bulldogs' Brown earned medalist with his four-over par 39 on the front nine.
