When Bethel Village Council members met Tuesday, Oct. 13 they heard a presentation from Ed Dyer, president of the Bethel-Tate board of education and Scott Hobart, candidate for the board and campaign manager. The pair were seeking support from council members for an upcoming operating levy for the school.

“This is our third attempt at an operating levy,” said Dyer. “This is a five year emergency operating levy. We are asking the voters to approve a 4.34 mill operating levy to raise $725,000. This levy would cost a home owner $131 a year on a house worth $100,000. That is about $11 per month.”

According to Dyer, the last time Bethel-Tate schools received additional money from taxpayers was nearly 20 years ago.
