Clermont Northeastern’s Rockets earned their first varsity football victory of the season by beating Bethel-Tate 12-8 in Owensville.

All of the scoring in the game was completed in the first quarter before the muddy soil prevented much offense to be accumulated by either squad from that point on.

Josh McGowan scored for the Blue and Gold (1-6) on a 17-yard pass from David Brausch Jr. and Bethel-Tate (4-3) tied it on Zach Mullins’ 80-yard run and Eric Shinkle put the Tigers ahead temporarily on his run for extra points. A Kenny Thompson to Jake Hacker 50-yard pass play earned Northeastern the victory.
