When the Batavia Township board of trustees met in regular session Tuesday, Oct. 6, they heard about an upcoming initiative for balanced growth in the Middle East Fork region.

Becky McClatchey, a representative from Clermont Soil and Water Conservation District, told the board that the district is seeking to become part of a two-year planning grant for the Middle East Fork watershed region.

“There will be six projects awarded statewide,” McClatchey said. “The balanced growth program is a voluntary, incentive-based strategy to protect and restore Ohio’s watersheds.”
