Pug owners from around southwest Ohio converged on Stonelick State Park Saturday, Oct. 3 for Pug Fair 2009.

The event originated as a birthday party for the pugs of Stan and Glenda Hertzman more than 11 years ago. Hertzman’s event grew and more pugs were invited each year with the money that would have been spent on presents going to the Ohio Pug Rescue.

The Ohio Pug Rescue is a non-profit volunteer organization that operates a foster care and placement program for pugs in Ohio. They provide vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchipping and any other necessary medical care for adoptees.
