James A. Preston, 88, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Dollie Sue Lee; two sisters, Alberta Booher and Eileen Preston; one brother, Charles Preston and two granddaughters, Paula Wallace and Shawna Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Kimbler Preston; children, Lee Preston, Janice (Fossett) Preston, Aurelia Lynn Wigglesworth, Patricia (Dale) Durham and Jimmy (Marcy) Preston Jr.; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and many family and friends.
Funeral services were held Sept. 30, at E. C. Nurre Funeral Home in Amelia.
Interment at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
