Those needing a “Second Chance” to receive a high school diploma have an advocate at the Clermont County Educational Service Center. But recent budget cuts will be affecting programs that have been offered in the past.
The Adult Basic Literacy Education program works with adults in Clermont and surrounding counties who need improvement in basic skills. If offers a refresher course to take an entrance test for college or to obtain a General Educational Development Diploma or GED.
According to McIntosh, the ABLE program served 300 adults during the 2008-2009 school year with 174 of those adult students receiving an Ohio High School Equivalency Diploma.
