County girls soccer fairly evenly balanced

Arch-rivals Batavia and Williamsburg have been undergoing the best success in the early going of the Clermont County high school varsity girls soccer season. he Bulldogs defeated Felicity 7-0 in the Southern Buckeye Conference National Division.

Bethel-Tate leading SBC-A golf tournament; Batavia runner-up in the SBC-N showdown

Bethel-Tate owns a comfortable lead after two of the five rounds have been played in the Southern Buckeye Conference American Division Golf Tournament. The Tigers (BT) have made a two-round, 18-hole total of 312 shots, Western Brown (WB) 365, New Richmond (NR) 390, Goshen (Gos) 394, and CNE 439.

Clermont County’s two high school varsity girls golf teams have begun their respective seasons. Milford was eighth among 17 teams at the Fairfield Invitational that took place on the South Trace of the Fairfield Greens.

Batavia, Bethel-Tate county boys best in soccer

Batavia and Bethel-Tate have been the quickest off the starting line on the Clermont County high school varsity boys soccer scene. The Bulldogs are 5-0-2 overall and 5-0 in the Southern Buckeye Conference National Division.

New Richmond Lions are only unbeaten team

New Richmond remains the county’s only undefeated high school varsity football squad. New Richmond (4-0) won a non-division contest of the Southern Buckeye Conference (SBC) over visiting Williamsburg (1-3) 47-7.

UC Clermont College to host Walk/Run for Scholarships

UC Clermont College will host its second annual UC Clermont 5K Walk/Run for Scholarships at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24 at Ivy Pointe Business Park. Registration begins at 8 a.m. in the Total Quality Logistics (TQL) Parking lot at 4289 Ivy Pointe Blvd. in the Eastgate Area.

Carolyn Denise Trenn, 51, of Milford, died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, in Miami Township. She had worked as a nannie in the child care business. Funeral services were held Sept. 22, at Summerside United Methodist Church.

Marlene Clements, 71

Marlene Wilma Clements, 71, of Milford, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, in Montgomery. She was a homemaker. Funeral services were held Sept. 21, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Milford.

Kathleen Wright, 60

Kathleen D. Wright, 60, of Mt. Orab, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, in Batavia Township. Funeral services were held Sept. 22, at Megie Funeral Home in Mt. Orab. Interment at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Union Township.
