Helen Lois Brown Dale, 91, of Milford, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at her residence.

She was born Aug. 27, 1918, in Indianapolis, Ind. The daughter of Ernest Frederick and Helen Reidy Karch.

Mrs. Dale was the founder of Clermont Senior Services in 1969. She served as the director for 22 years. She was an avid reader, writer, leader, teacher, friend and family matriarch.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, James Lebert Brown and Gilbert R. Dale and one son, Allan Leslie Brown.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Brown Kelly and Joyce Brown Sargeant; five grandchildren, Marshall Garrison, Cynthia Rivera, Sherry Sargeant, Meredith Brown Hamilton and Austin Brown; three sisters, Mary Anderson, Patricia Evans and Eileen Owen and many nieces, nephews and an extended family of friends.

A private burial is planned at Greenlawn Cemetery in Milford. A public memorial celebration will be held 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at The Friendship Center, 2085 James Sauls Drive, in Batavia.
