The Clermont County Sheriff’s budget is being cut an additional 5 percent and that means an end to some long-standing services.

“Given the dire financial situation we have encountered and will likely be facing in the foreseeable future, we have reluctantly decided that we will not be able to continue operating the DARE programs,” said Sheriff A.J. “Tim” Rodenberg. “We have had these programs in 11 Clermont County schools.”

The programs have been operating in county schools for nearly 20 years and according to Sheriff Rodenberg, they have served 2,000 elementary and middle school children annually.
