Michael Douglas Acree, 61, of Owensville, died Friday, July 24, 2009, in Batavia Township. He was born in Morehead, Ky.

Mr. Acree served as an SP5 with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a union representative for the Ford Motor Company. He attended the Christian Life Center in Mt. Carmel and was active in youth sports programs in the community. He was instrumental in moving the Clermont Northeastern athletic fields from Owensville to the school campus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mose and Lela Davis Acree and three brothers, Mose Jr., John and Glennis Acree.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Curran Acree; two daughters, Susan (Brad) Council and Christa Acree; two grandchildren, Andy and Lauren Council; three brothers, David (Judy), Phillip (Tina) and Mark (Debbie) Acree and one sister, Loretta (Steve) Mezger.

Funeral services were held July 29, at the Christian Life Center.

Interment at Stonelick Township Cemetery, in Owensville.
