F. Harley Clark, 91, died Monday, July 31, 2009. He was born Dec. 12, 1917, the son of Fred W. and Bernice Mott Clark.

Mr. Clark was a decorated World War II veteran, former business owner and civic leader.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Herschel and Jack Clark.

He is survived by his wife, Jessamine Farmer Clark; one son, Douglas Harley (Maya) Clark of Las Vegas, Nev.; one daughter, Patricia (James) Carpenter Grone of Tempe, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Michael Clark of Okinawa, Japan, Brittany Carpenter of Tempe, Ariz. and Daniel Clark of Las Vegas, Nev.; two great grandchildren; one sister, Merle Glueck of Florida and numerous other family members and friends.

Funeral services were held Aug. 5, at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home, in Amelia with Masonic and Scottish Rite services. A celebration service is planned 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 1177 West Ohio Pike, in Amelia. A graveside service with military honors will follow at the F. Harley Clark Cemetery, in Pierce Township.
