Class A Senior – Played at Withamsville-Tobasco Community Park, Withamsville: Winners’ Bracket – Tealtown Terrors terrorized Withamsville-Tobasco Eagles, Amelia Bulldogs rabied Amelia Astros, Bethel Rangers scared Tealtown Terrors.

Zac Strief Dream Big Foundation Football Camp was a big success

Zac Strief, standing center, star offensive lineman for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League and former all-star on the gridiron for Milford High School and Northwestern University, looks on as he instructs at his annual football camp that was once again deemed a success. The camp was held at Milford High School.

Lion alumni gather for basketball showdown

The New Richmond High School men’s alumni basketball game was won by the even-numbered years 78-59. Rodney Abbott (class of 1998) and Justin Fender (2002) shared game scoring honors sinking 12 points apiece.

Eight outstanding New Richmond senior athletes sign college letters-of-intent

Josh Daniels will be attending the University of Cincinnati to major in education and compete in track and field. He recently signed a letter-of-intent committing himself to the same. Daniels competed in football, wrestling, and track and field at New Richmond and was a four-year letterman on the mat and track and earned two letters on the gridiron.

George Hafer, 72

George H. Hafer, 72, died Saturday, July 25, 2009. He was born Aug. 10, 1936. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, at Hickory Ridge Cemetery, in Brown County.

Janet Miller, 53

Janet Lee Meadors Miller, 53, of Hamersville, died Monday, July 20, 2009, at Mercy Hospital Anderson. Funeral services were held July 24, at Megie Funeral Home, in Mt. Orab.

Norman Lyle, 81

Norman “Sonny” Lyle, 81, of Milford, died Thursday, July 23, 2009. Funeral services were held July 28, at Craver-Riggs Funeral Home and Crematory, in Milford.

Brenda Kuhl, 59

Brenda Kuhl, 59, died Thursday, July 23, 2009. She was born Dec. 31, 1949. A Mass of Christian Burial was held July 28, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, in Amelia. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, in St. Bernard.

Stanley Brown, 82

Stanley Brown, 82, of Terrace Park, died Sunday, July 19, 2009. Mr. Brown was a member of several historical societies and nature conservation groups. Memorial services were held July 28, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, in Terrace Park.
