The tournament season has ended, but Clermont County’s high school varsity fast pitch softball teams did well and entered their respective tourneys with strong regular season-ending showings. New Richmond, Glen Este, Goshen, Batavia, and Milford ended their schedules most powerfully.

New Richmond

The Lions halted Western Brown’s winning streak at 26 games with a convincing 11-1 drubbing of the previously unbeaten Broncos in this six-inning Southern Buckeye Conference American Division game. Michelle Sweet helped herself to the win on the mound by getting two hits and three runs batted in (RBI) and Megan Troxell had three hits and two RBI.

The Red and Black edged Blanchester 8-7 in a non-division game of the Southern Buckeye. Sweet was the winning hurler and Kelsey Cornett had two base raps and Jordan Jetter two RBI for NR.

Bethel-Tate was also taken 9-1 in the Southern Buckeye Conference. Sweet struck out 10 Tigers to gain the win on the hill.
