Participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) by older adults in Clermont County has increased by nearly 20 percent during the past year, but many more are eligible and have not applied.
As food prices and other expenses go up, every dollar makes a difference. SNAP could help, but many older adults are reluctant to apply. The reasons are varied and are often based on misinformation and myths about the program.
Here are some of those myths with accurate information to help older adults make a decision about seeking help from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
