Batavia Township trustees met Tuesday, May 19 to discuss plans for a war memorial.
A humvee donated by BAE Systems more than two years ago will serve as the focal point for the memorial. A Military War Memorial Committee was established to raise funds for the memorial, but recently turned over ownership of the memorial along with the keys to the humvee to township officials.
An elaborate design had been planned for the memorial but trustees are seeking a scaled down version.
