During the Union Township Trustee meeting Tuesday, May 12, administrator David Duckworth introduced billing policies and procedures as a means to increase revenue and recoup costs incurred by the fire and emergency medical services department.

“I have completed my research into the subject of non-resident EMS billing and am recommending that the board proceed with implementing a non-resident EMS billing program,” said Duckworth. “I am asking the board to adopt a ‘soft bill’ program which means that Union Township will not seek collections for any unpaid bill or outstanding balance.”

“I would also like for the board to consider billing non-residents for fire department responses to motor vehicle accidents,” said Duckworth.
