A crowd of residents, government officials and local pastors gathered on the steps of the Clermont County Courthouse Thursday, May 7 to pray during the 58th annual National Day of Prayer observance.
Pastor John Martin, coordinator for the Union Township National Day of Prayer presented a proclamation to Batavia Mayor John Thebout and thanked him and the Village of Batavia for hosting the event each year. The document signed by Clermont County Commissioners mandated Thursday, May 7, 2009 as a day of prayer in Clermont County.
