A state audit has revealed an accounting error which is currently being addressed by Bethel Village Administrator Travis Dotson. He reported the findings to council members during its meeting Monday, April 27.
“As we made clear in the first phase of our Fiscal Recovery Plan, which was implemented last year, the Village of Bethel is intent on operating in a fiscally responsible and conservative manner,” said Dotson. “In the development and implementation of our fiscal recovery plan, we feel we continue to do so.”
A recent meeting with state auditors in completing the 2004-2005 audit and 2006-2007 audit uncovered accounting issues.
