The Amelia Police Department and Amelia businesses brought The Officer Phil Program to students at Amelia Elementary on Monday, March 30.
The safety program has been presented to students for nine years and features Officer Phil, portrayed by Tom Rozoff, of Milford.
The Officer Phil Program was created in 1975 and is presented by nine different people in 22 states by the Creative Safety Products organization. Amelia Police Officer Keith Mahan assisted Officer Phil with several magic tricks during the program aimed at teaching elementary students about personal safety, pedestrian safety, computer safety, citizenship and stranger danger.
