Returning veterans often have a difficult time transitioning back into civilian life after serving in places like Iraq and Afghanistan and when they attempt to enroll in college, the transition is often compounded with numerous forms to fill out, student loans to consider and many times health issues factor in the mix.

The Clermont County Veterans Services Commission is working in conjunction with UC Clermont College to help enroll returning veterans into college as easily as possible and they met with educators from UC Clermont on Friday, Feb. 13, to discuss some options.

Ann Appleton, assistant dean at UC Clermont shared the challenges the college has to overcome such as problems in marketing the school to returning veterans and processing them into college classes.
