Lewis and Shinsato two-event qualifiers in state swimming

Clermont County will be well represented in the state championship swimming and diving showdowns that will take place this weekend at C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton.

Alex Lewis, New Richmond junior, qualified for two events in Division II.

He has the 11th best time among the state qualifiers in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 52.45 seconds and he also owns the 11th best time in the 100 freestyle with a clocking of 48.26.

Eileen Shinsato, Batavia senior, was a two-event qualifier in Division II.

She is 24th among the state competitors with her time of 2:18.37 in the 200 individual medley. Her clocking of 1:09.93 in the 100 breaststroke was 15th best.

Margaret Craycraft, Milford sophomore, brings to Canton the eighth best performance in the one-meter diving competition in Division I.

Beau Robinson, Milford freshman, has the 23rd best time in the Division I boys 100 butterfly with a time of 53.00.

Milford has three relay teams that has qualified for the state championships.

The 200 medley relay (Dan Matulis, Kyle Tepe, Robinson, and Eric Sanders) time of 1:40.13 is 20th best. The 200 free relay (Robinson, Joey Griffin, Matt D'Errico, and Sanders) time of 1:29.56 is 17th best. The 400 free relay (Chris Williams, Griffin, Robinson, and Sanders) time of 3:17.60 is 18th best.
