Raymond M. Tonnis, 84, formerly of Milford, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, in Cincinnati. He was born Sept. 21, 1924, the son of George John and Clara Feldman Tonnis.
Mr. Tonnis served as a Corporal in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and sister-in-laws, Urban and Anna Mae Tonnis, Norbert and Virginia Tonnis, Harold, George and Clarence Tonnis and Rosemary Tonnis and one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jack Osterhaus.
He is survived by one son, Greg (Rebecca) Tonnis; four daughters, Anne (Rick) Stratman, Diane Gentry, Sharon (Jim) Angelo and Carolyn (Bill) Carter; seven grandchildren, Kyle, Kelli and Tyler Stratman, Klara and Bianca Gentry and Dale and Keith Carter; two brothers, Joseph and Leon Tonnis; two sister-in-laws, Helen and Joan Tonnis and 23 nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Feb. 13, at St. Andrew Church, in Milford.
Interment at Vera Cruz Cemetery, in Brown County.
