Eleanore Maxwell Dial, 79, of Batavia, died Jan. 18, 2009.
Mrs. Dial had been a professor of Spanish at Iowa State University before her retirement.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Kratzenberger and Irene Montoya.
She is survived by her husband, John Dial; four nephews and numerous cousins.
A memorial service is planned 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at Faith United Methodist Church, 180 North Fifth Street, Batavia.
Memorials may be made to the church.
