Curtis arrested in drug case
A drug investigation on Thursday, Jan. 22, led to the arrest of Michael Curtis, 28, of Pierce Township.
“On Jan. 22, the Clermont County Narcotics Unit along with the Pierce Township Police Department executed a search warrant at 1399 Lakewood Drive, in Pierce Township,” said Clermont County Sheriff A.J. Rodenberg. “Several citizen complaints were received by the Pierce Township Police Department along with calls to the Clermont County Narcotics Unit concerning suspicious activity at that location. As a result, an investigation was initiated and subsequently the Clermont County Narcotics Task Force and Pierce Township police secured enough information for a search warrant of the premises. No injuries or complications resulted from the search.”
"This residence was the scene of an overdose death in June 2007 and most recently a home invasion robbery," said Combs.
Curtis was charged with weapons under disability a felony of the 3rd degree and made a court appearance on Friday, Jan. 23, in Municipal Court. The investigation is continuing in this matter and may result in additional charges when the Grand Jury meets.
"The zero tolerance policy of both agencies and our commitment to the citizens of this community is to combat drugs whenever and wherever found," said Pierce Township Police Chief James Smith.
The Clermont County Narcotics Unit works under the auspices of the Clermont County Sheriff and is comprised of sheriff's deputies and officers from the Union, Pierce, and Miami Township Police Departments and the City of Milford Police Department.
