Lois Alberta Elsen, 90, of Miami Township, in Milford, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, in Blue Ash. She was a homemaker. Interment at Lindenwood Cemetery, in Ft. Wayne, Ind.

David Ray Meade, 57, of Felicity and formerly of Bethel, died Jan. 6, 2009. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 10, at E. C. Nurre Funeral Home, in Bethel. Interment at Tate Township Cemetery.
Theodore Mays, 67
Theodore Brian “Ted” Mays, 67, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009. Mr. Mays was the owner of Ohio Valley Helicopters. E. C. Nurre Funeral Home, in Amelia, served the family.
Helen Conner, 86
Helen Lavena Day Conner, 86, of Bethel, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 12, at E. C. Nurre Funeral Home, in Bethel.
Lucille Moore, 81
Lucille Moore, 81, of Milford, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, in Edgewood, Ky. She had been a lead lady at Mosler Safe Company. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at Evans Funeral Home, in Milford.
Ohio Supreme Court rules in favor of father in support case
The Ohio Supreme Court has issued its decision in the Byrd vs. Knuckles case in a ruling that could impact child support cases statewide. In mid-December, the high court sided with the father, Brian Knuckles, in the case involving parents who requested that Clermont County Juvenile Court allow them to waive $7,420 in child support owed to the mother.
Justice pleads no contest
The former post master of Bethel, Jennifer Justice, entered a plea of no contest during a pre-trial hearing on Tuesday, Jan. 13, in Clermont County Common Pleas court in front of Judge William Walker. Justice, of New Richmond, was indicted on Oct. 22, 2008 for allegedly using the identity of someone else to apply for a credit card and obtain magazine subscriptions.
Art event to be held in New Richmond
A unique opportunity to view the work of a variety of artisans awaits those who travel to New Richmond on Saturday, Jan. 24 and Sunday, Jan. 25. The third annual Destination Artists event, organized by New Richmond artist Mary Mark, welcomes everyone to enjoy art all over town from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
Batavia Township looks at planned developments
Planned developments which are in non-compliance in Batavia Township were discussed during the Batavia Township meeting Tuesday, Jan. 6. Denise Kelley, zoning administrator, presented the board with a list of four developments that need extensions for their final development.
