Voters in the West Clermont Local School District will be deciding the fate of a levy on the ballot Tuesday, May 5. The 6.91 mill continuing levy would replace the 7.9 mill five-year emergency levy that was passed in 2004. The current levy expires at the end of 2009.

According to Alana Cropper, treasurer for West Clermont Local School District, the substitute levy will generate no additional money for the schools, as it is a continuation of the one in effect now.

“The lower millage will collect the same amount as it did in 2004,” said Cropper. “We couldn’t ask the voters for more, but we are asking them to continue what they have been paying.
