Glen Este’s varsity wrestling squad took both sides of a triangular meet the Trojans hosted.
The Purple and White defeated Princeton’s Vikings 44-33 and New Richmond 53-22.
The home boys’ double winners were Blake Meyers (112), C. J. Pickelheimer (125), Tommy Fehring (140), Tyler Godfrey (171), Jacob Sparke (189), Michael Kennedy (215), and Taylor Krimmer (285). Single victors versus New Richmond were Josh Clift (130), Daniel Gibbs (135), and Bruce Lyons (145).
Godfrey impressively defeated a state qualifier from Princeton 17-2.
The Lions lost to Princeton 51-28 and Glen Este in GE's triangular tussle.
Cole Petry (119) and Andrew Nealan (160) were the two-time winners for the Red and Black. Kyle Rose (125) and Brian Gelter (215) were victorious over the Vikings and Sam Anderson (103) and Garrett Myers (152) topped the Trojans.
The Barons, having to forfeit seven weight classes, lost to Sycamore and Talawanda's Braves in a meet that took place at Lebanon High School.
The twice triumphant Amelians were Cory Clolinger (103), Cody Burris (152), and Jacob Martin (215). Marc McDonald (189) and Joel Beach (285) defeated their Sycamore adversaries.
The Eagles returned home after doubling up on Sycamore's Aviators 48-24.
