William Bick Primary School Principal Matt Wagner asked approval from the Bethel Tate Board of Education to accept a $10,000 grant and the project plan and budget for the Ready Schools Project at the board’s Dec. 9 meeting.

According to Wagner, this is the first year the state has offered this grant and Bick Primary is one of only 10 schools to receive it.

“There is a big push by Governor Ted Strickland because he is really big on early childhood education,” Wagner said. “This project will help get kids ready for school, but it is more than that.”
