Most of Clermont County’s high school varsity girls basketball teams are having a real tough time gaining some victories.

Amelia

The Barons won an intra-county, non-conference contest over visiting New Richmond 47-43. The Blue and White held quarter advantages of 13-9, 29-22, and 39-32. It was Amelia and new head coach Ken Nutter’s first victory.

Morgan Sperry, junior forward, paced the winners’ offense with 14 points. New Richmond sophomore center Reno Frayne led all scorers with 16 points.

In another intra-county non-league game, Amelia overcame Clermont Northeastern 53-44. The hosts were in the lead from the get-go 11-9, 29-17, and 42-26.
