Shoplifter pulls gun in Walmart

Pierce Township police are searching for a man who is suspected of shoplifting at the Walmart store, located 1815 Ohio Pike, in Clermont County.

According to police reports, a man and woman entered the store 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12 and were involved in a shoplifting scheme when they were confronted by and detained by store security personnel.

The suspect, identified as James Sullender, 49, of the Georgetown area, pulled a handgun and fled the store. The woman, only identified as 29 years of age and from the West Union area, was later stopped by police of the following agencies, Clermont County Sheriff’s office, Bethel police and Pierce Township Police Department.

According to authorities, Sullender had already left the vehicle and had fled on foot. There is currently a warrant on file for Sullender. He is considered armed and dangerous and according to family members, he may be suicidal or homicidal to police, information about his whereabouts can be called into 911, the Pierce Township Police Department (513) 752-4100 or the Clermont County communications center (513) 732-2231.
