Bethel’s new skateboard park is in the works but there is no official ground breaking ceremony scheduled yet.
“We are waiting for the weather to break to get the concrete ready,” said councilman Tim Cherry. “The equipment is scheduled to be shipped this week. We will let the skating committee know when we set a date, especially the young ones who will be helping to set it up.”
Burke Trust Committee Chair Donna Gunn reported that attempts to get the members of the Burke Trust Commission to attend the council meeting were refused because the commission meetings are private meetings and they didn’t feel that they needed to come to a public meeting.
