Bethel is planning a ‘Down Home Christmas’ Dec. 6.

The sixth year for the event, the ‘Down Home Christmas’ is a way for the village’s churches and businesses to celebrate the holidays by holding special events for residents to enjoy.

Beginning at 9 a.m., the Bethel Music Boosters will sponsor a reservation-only breakfast with Santa Claus to be held at the Bethel-Tate High School.

Event chair Diana Parker said that the event committee is sponsoring a food drive during the all-day village-wide festival; people can drop off non-perishables at several village sites, including the Bethel Historical Museum, the Fire Department, and the library.
