Clermont County Commissioner Mary Walker pleaded no contest to violating state ethics law in a Clermont County Common Pleas courtroom Nov. 10.

After being found guilty of violating state ethics law, the beleaguered commissioner entered the no contest plea and then resigned her commission post as part of the plea deal that was offered and accepted by visiting judge Matt Crehan.

The ethics investigation against Walker, which began more than a year ago, was a direct result of the now ex-commissioner’s voting to approve the county employment of Professional Engineering Group, a company owned by her son, Mark Walker.
