The village of Amelia thanked and celebrated its hundreds of local veterans, and all current members of the United States military, at its fifth annual Salute to Veterans Ceremony.
The celebration, which was held at the Amelia Elementary School Nov. 8, attracted close to approximately 100 people.
Amelia Mayor Leroy Ellington said that the village holds the ceremony every year to recognize and honor all of the military personnel and the many veterans who have made, and will continue to make, sacrifices so that we may may live in security and freedom.
