Republican candidates Bob Proud and Ed Humphrey both defeated their Democratic rivals to win seats on the Clermont County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday.

Proud, the current commission president, was first elected to the board in 1989; he was being challenged for the seat by local businessman Tom Auxier.

Proud received 55,182 votes; Auxier received 29,217.

Ed Humphrey, a Miami Township trustee, defeated Democratic challenger Theresa Conover, receiving a total of 53,476 votes.
