Democrat Victoria Wulsin and independent candidate David Krikorian are challenging Republican incumbent Jean Schmidt for the 2nd district congressional seat.
Congresswoman Schmidt, who was first elected to the open seat in August 2005, said that she is proud and humbled to represent the people of the second congressional district.
Running on a campaign of issues and results (not personal attacks, she said), Schmidt said that she is very proud of her accomplishment and achievements thus far, including getting authorization for the Nutrition Education in the Farm Bill, and working to make sure that General Electric Aircraft continues building the Joint Striker Fighter Aircraft, which is saving thousands of jobs here in southern Ohio.
