The 5th annual Amelia village “Salute to Veterans” will be held Nov. 8.

Amelia village council has invited all Clermont County citizens to participate in the ceremony, to be held at 2 p.m. at the Amelia Elementary School to honor and celebrate veterans, their families, and the men and women currently serving in the U.S. military.

“We hold the military salute to veterans every year because we as a village have loved ones, family, and friends, who have served or are currently serving,” Amelia mayor Leroy Ellington said at council’s regular Oct. 20 meeting. “I think that when people spend time serving their country, it is important that we take the time to honor and celebrate that service to defend our freedoms.”
