Barb Wiedenbein has announced that she is resigning her position as a trustee of Clermont County’s Union Township in December.

Her resignation, announced Oct. 1, will take affect one year before her elected term as a Union Township trustee was scheduled to expire.

Wiedenbein said that her decision to leave came before a special prosecutor was appointed to look into whether or not Ohio ethics laws were violated when she approved a $1,640 payment to Mariemont Florist, a flower and gift shop that her daughter Summer Wiedenbein owns.
