Congresswoman Jean Schmidt is back in the district and recuperating in her Miami Township home after sustaining injuries from being hit by a vehicle that struck her while she was jogging last week.
Schmidt, 56, suffered two broken vertebrae and two broken ribs in the hit and run.
The driver of the van who hit the congresswoman, throwing her into the air, did not stop.
