Bethel native Mark Planck is the new chief of the Bethel Police Department.

“I am most looking forward to making the village police department the best it can possibly be,” Planck said. “And in turn, make Bethel the safest village that it can possibly be.”

Planck, 43, graduated from Bethel High School in 1985. After graduating from the Brown County Police Academy in 1987, he attended the Southern Hills Vocational School and joined the Bethel police force a year later.
